It's 1 AM and......

....there is so much to say. ;) I won't tell you now, though, since I'm waiting for the last load of laundry to go in the dryer, then I'm off to sleep...got a 9AM date with the Water Aerobics class tomorrow (with Sarah and my friend Diane)

So I will tell you more about my last few days, and more about the summer in general.

Blake (my 10-year-old grandson) flies to Mexico for all of July on July 1st to be with his dad, then Sarah and Evoly fly back to Virginia on the 3rd (sniff sniff!!). On the 7th I get my permanent back-molar's crown put on and on the 8th Emily and her three beauties fly here for a couple of weeks - and I'll get to see them!! I reset my return tickets to Singapore for Sept. 3rd (or 2nd - I forget!)

More later -- promise -- just don't know how soon ;)

Oh, one more thing. I've got my WA driver's License updated (it expires soon) and the license tag on the Toyota updated (it expires end of June) and I am now the proud "registered owner" of this great car and Mom (or Grandmommy or Gg - whatever you call her =) is still the "Legal Owner" until we get the 'new' title (a replacement one ;) signed over to me and I finish paying her for the car. It's had all it's 90,000-mile work done on it. So....2 more things I can 'tick' off my summer "to-do list" -- yeah me!!

teeth - owies - vroom vroom - travels

Today I went in to my new dentist, Dr. Brian Alder (he came on into the practice after his mission, and his parents mission) He put a temporary crown on - the permanent porclain crown will be placed in early July - so for now I just have to be careful not to eat anything sticky. No more cold or pressure sensitivity and no more holes in my mouth where they don't belong - YEAH! I've got a 'before' pic and I'll have an 'after' pic up soon - he seems to do very nice work :-) Also, some shots of the clinic - you feel like you're in a forest, with squirrels, birds and woods - peaceful.

Today I had a killer workout with my trainer - legs and shoulders - phew! man, I'm weaker than I thought!! wobbly ;)

Tomorrow the car goes in for it's 90,000 'adjustments' - my mom's always taken great care of her cars and this one's no exception (a 1990 Toyota Camry) -- so......I intend to keep it in top working order, so that it will last another 200,000 miles at least! My own Subaru had 245,000 when it was wrecked twice and had to be junked -- such a nice car it was - a 1994 Legacy-sniff ;(

Next week, I have to get Blake back to his home for his Cub Day Camp, then back to Vancouver, when he flies to Cabo San Lucas to be with his dad for a month. Then back here and off we will go to the International Kite Festival in late August -- then he'll go home for 5th grade (what!!! he can't be that old!!) and I will finish up with whatever house work I was able to get done and then back to Singapore. But that is all a later story.....

Ta, ta for now =)

My toothie :(

Today while chewing a piece of gum, my bottom left rear molar broke!! :( It had been bothering me for quite a while - it was pressure sensitive, but not cold or heat sensitive. Each time a hard piece of food, a seed, or something else like that got caught in the pit of the tooth, it hurt like crazy - of course, I'd stop chewing and take it out and then it would be fine. I'd come to start favoring not chewing on that back molar. Now, it's a clean break and is only cold sensitive for the moment. I will call a dentist tomorrow and try to get en emergency appointment to have a temp put in - or see if it is viable to just cement the chip of tooth back into place. I can brush my teeth easily without pain, so maybe it can be saved like Livvy's front tooth was so many, many years ago. I'll go to Dr. Brian Alder, if I can, tomorrow -- it's his dad that fixed Livvy's tooth -- maybe Brian has some magic in his hands, too -- let's hope so, anyway.

I'll keep you up on the progress -- pray that I won't need a root canal!! ouchie!!

I've added a few new links...

...friends from Singapore - some who have moved on to other parts of the world and some who will continue to be in Singapore for a while longer. They're interesting -- check them out.

It's so much fun to be a "nana" ...... who has a few extra $$$ to spend. With 7 grandkids, there's always a birthday around the corner - and you know what that means - BOOKS!! There are so many cute, informative and just plain fun books out there - I can't wait to help build another generation of readers =) Get it kids?? (Some of my own kids don't like to read - WHAT!?!?!) Books like"Fancy Nancy" and "Skippy Jon Jones" and the "Fablehaven" series for older kids. Also books that teach you about bugs, space and dinosaurs! yeeeaaahhh books!

Oh and just for you Ana - I've now found out just what the "Twilight" series is, though I haven't started reading them yet -- still enjoying all the Steve Berry books - but I'll get to them soon enough! BTW - there is a 4th book in the Twilight series (coming out soon to a B. Dalton, Borders or library near you) and now she has also started a new series (though I won't get into that just yet).

Also, for those of you who enjoyed "Eragon" and "Eldest" by Christopher Paolini, there is the 3rd (and I believe the last) book in his series coming out later this summer or early fall.

And one more....Cornelia Funke .... if you haven't read any of her books, like "Inkheart" or "Inkspell", she also has a 3rd book in this series coming out in late summer/early fall. It was supposed to be released earlier this year, but according to one bookseller I talked to, they delayed the newest book to come after the movie premier later this summer. WHAT!?!? A movie? Cool!!!! These are great books and shouldn't be missed.

My Georgie....oooh and my Jennifer, too =)

....George graduates college in a few days (I'll have some pictures up after the 13th). But 2 days ago, he marched with the Army Band Vancouver 104th Division in the 101st Portland Grand Floral Parade -- and because I missed the actual parade, I watched it on the TV tonight, and saw him! They did a full-body shot of him marching by playing his trumpet! whaaaaahoooooo! go, Georgie and the Army Band!

Jenn - I also saw your old Llama group in the parade, too - with Monica in her wheelchair. I missed seeing you and your mom and dad! =( Hope to see you and your family when you're here for the Fair =)

I'm gonna be buff!!

I just joined LA Fitness in Vancouver. It's a month-to-month membership, that can be suspended when I'm not here, so I don't lose anything! It has all the weights, machines, classes and a pool. Plus for a small fee, I'll have a personal trainer for a while to get me into a useful routine. Then when I go home to Singapore, I'll know what to do on my own =) YEAH for me!

Thursday, June 5

well...stuff =) with some *** updates

*** ...I just joined Netflix - what a completely wonderful service!! =) wow! =)
...I'm going to buy a new stove/oven today -- nothing fancy, but it will WORK and be new =) *** okay - I bought it! Maytag, mid-price range, electric (not my preferred gas - they require me to have a 100-gallon tank now, which is too expensive, cause I would have to buy the tank, so I bought electric) but it's a glass top, and very nice as far as electric goes. And the oven is convection & it has 5 burners -- super!

...I'm home in Vancouver. =)
...George graduates college in 8 days =) then he starts his 'masters' =)
...people start arriving here in 6 days to be here for the graduation =)
...I'm going to buy a new stove/oven 'cause the "old 'new'" one's oven broke =(
...I'm going to join a gym - I'm fat ;)
...Howie (our 'black panther kitten') has a big owie on his ear won in another battle --it's a Howie Owie - it's pusy - eeew! I clean and medicate it every day - it's getting better slowly ;)
...It rains one day and is sunny another - typical? annoying anyway ;)
...Blaker's turned 10 - he's not a 'single-digit' kid anymore! his mom's sad about that - I think it makes her feel OLD!! hehe
...Gg is 93 and I'm buying her car -- the road is a safer place ;)
...I don't know who to vote for in the elections! augh!! I don't like anyone -- any suggestions????
...my brother turns 70 this year - I hope it doesn't make him too sad - he didn't like 60 :(
...all of my best Singapore friends live back in the US now except one - she is in Sweden - guess I'll have to make some MORE friends !! =)
...I'm reading the Book of Mormon again in 97 days - challenge started yesterday!
...I'm reading a new book, The Historian. It's getting interesting! Thanks Manda & Michael!
...it's midnight:50 and I'm going to sleep!
